Ingredients

  • bison ground meat - 400 grams
  • whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • arugula - 50 grams
  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • sliced tomatoes - 100 grams

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the bison ground meat, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined and form into two equal patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the bison patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  3. While the burgers are cooking, mix the Greek yogurt and Dijon mustard in a small bowl to create the sauce.
  4. Toast the whole wheat burger buns in a toaster or under the broiler until lightly browned.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked bison patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with arugula, sliced tomatoes, and red onions.
  6. Spread the yogurt-Dijon sauce over the top half of the buns and place them on top of the assembled burgers.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite healthy side.
