Ingredients

  • 2 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 2 slices of white bread
  • 4 pickle slices

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken thighs and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix together flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, and coat thoroughly in the seasoned flour mixture.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the chicken thighs skin-side down.
  5. Fry the chicken for about 7-8 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 75°C).
  6. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  7. Serve the hot chicken on slices of white bread, topped with pickle slices.
