Ingredients
- Black cod fillets - 2 (approximately 200g each)
- White miso paste - 3 tablespoons
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Mirin - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce (kosher) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, finely sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Steps
- In a bowl, mix the white miso paste, brown sugar, mirin, soy sauce, and sesame oil until well combined to create the marinade.
- Place the black cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- Remove the black cod from the marinade, allowing the excess to drip off, and place the fillets in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
