  • Gluten-free all-purpose flour - 1/4 cup
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Hot dogs - 4 small
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 2 cups

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free cornmeal, gluten-free all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 180°C (350°F).
  5. While the oil is heating, insert wooden skewers into each hot dog, leaving enough stick for easy handling.
  6. Dip each hot dog into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
  7. Carefully lower the battered hot dogs into the hot oil, frying a few at a time until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Remove the mini corn dogs from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
