Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 400 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 30 grams, chopped
  • Fresh mint - 15 grams, chopped
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Cucumber - 50 grams, finely diced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, mint, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  2. Form the lamb mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the lamb patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
  4. While the patties are cooking, in a small bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and diced cucumber to create the yogurt sauce.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, toast the whole wheat burger buns in the skillet for about 1-2 minutes until golden.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lamb patty on each bun, adding a dollop of yogurt sauce, and topping with sliced tomato and lettuce.
