  • Brisket - 450 grams
  • Dijon mustard - 2 tablespoons
  • Pure maple syrup - 3 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable broth - 250 milliliters

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard, maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to create the glaze.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the brisket in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Remove the brisket from the skillet and set aside.
  6. Pour the vegetable broth into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  7. Return the brisket to the skillet and brush half of the glaze over the top.
  8. Cover the skillet with a lid or aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
  9. Cook for 2 hours, basting with the remaining glaze halfway through cooking.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the brisket rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
