- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Score the skin of the duck breasts in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.
- Season the duck breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup, chopped rosemary, minced garlic, and lemon juice.
- Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the duck breasts skin-side down in the skillet and sear for about 6-8 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
- Flip the duck breasts over and pour the maple syrup mixture over them.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for an additional 10-12 minutes for medium-rare doneness.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let the duck rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the sliced duck with the maple glaze drizzled over the top.
