Ingredients
- Pork ribs - 1 kg
- Maple syrup - 100 ml
- Bourbon (kosher) - 50 ml
- Apple cider vinegar - 30 ml
- Soy sauce (kosher) - 30 ml
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 250 ml
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a bowl, mix together the maple syrup, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade.
- Place the pork ribs in a large dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- After marinating, remove the ribs from the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Pour the water into the baking sheet to create steam while cooking.
- Cover the ribs tightly with another layer of aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours.
- After 2.5 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully take off the top layer of foil.
- Preheat a grill or broiler to high heat. Transfer the ribs to the grill or broiler and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, basting with leftover marinade, until they are caramelized and slightly charred.
- Remove from the grill, let rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones and serve warm.
