  • Lean ground beef - 300 grams
  • Maple syrup - 2 tablespoons
  • Bacon - 4 slices (preferably turkey bacon for a healthier option)
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Fresh spinach leaves - 1 cup
  • Sliced tomato - 1 medium
  • Red onion - 1/4 medium, sliced
  • Avocado - 1 small, sliced
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook the turkey bacon until crispy, about 5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside on paper towels to drain.
  3. In a bowl, mix the lean ground beef with maple syrup, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Form the beef mixture into two equal patties.
  5. In the same skillet, cook the burger patties for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium, or until desired doneness.
