Ingredients

  • Cooked green lentils - 1 cup
  • Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
  • Old Bay seasoning - 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped nori (seaweed) - 1 tablespoon
  • Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Chopped green onion - 2 tablespoons
  • Chopped red bell pepper - 1/4 cup
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked lentils, bread crumbs, Old Bay seasoning, chopped nori, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, green onion, red bell pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. If the mixture is too wet, add more bread crumbs until a moldable consistency is achieved.
  3. Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about 1 inch thick.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the patties in the skillet.
  5. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from the skillet and let drain on paper towels before serving.
