Ingredients

  • Sea scallops - 300 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams
  • Fresh lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the scallops to the skillet and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and opaque in the center. Remove the scallops from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley, mixing well to incorporate.
  6. Return the scallops to the skillet, spooning the lemon butter sauce over them. Cook for an additional minute to warm through.
  7. Serve immediately, drizzling any remaining sauce over the scallops.
