Ingredients
- Lamb shoulder - 300 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Greek yogurt - 100 grams
- Cucumber - 1 small, grated
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pita bread - 2 pieces
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Romaine lettuce - 1 cup, shredded
Steps
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add the lamb shoulder, coat well, and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- While the lamb is marinating, prepare the tzatziki sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl. Set aside in the refrigerator.
- Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the lamb from the marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked to your desired doneness.
- Once cooked, let the lamb rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.
- Warm the pita bread in the grill pan for about 1 minute on each side.
- Assemble the platter by placing the sliced lamb on the pita, topped with diced tomato, sliced red onion, and shredded romaine lettuce.
- Drizzle the tzatziki sauce generously over the top and serve immediately.
