Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 400 grams
  • Garlic cloves - 2, minced
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cucumber - 1/2, grated
  • Greek yogurt (full-fat) - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground lamb, minced garlic, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the lamb mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a burger patty, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the lamb patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach a desired doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a bowl, mix grated cucumber, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped dill. Stir until well combined and season with salt to taste.
  5. Once the burgers are cooked, let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve each patty wrapped in lettuce leaves with a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce on top.
