Ingredients

  • Cooked jasmine rice - 1 cup
  • Ground halal beef - 200 grams
  • Spinach - 100 grams
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Zucchini - 1 small, julienned
  • Mushrooms (shiitake or button) - 100 grams, sliced
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Sesame seeds - for garnish
  • Green onions - 1, chopped for garnish

Steps

  1. In a frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add ground halal beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add spinach and sauté for 1-2 minutes until wilted. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add zucchini and carrots to the pan and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add sliced mushrooms to the pan and sauté until soft, about 3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  6. In a separate pan, fry the eggs sunny-side up until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny.
  7. To assemble, divide the cooked jasmine rice between two bowls. Arrange the sautéed vegetables and ground beef on top of the rice.
  8. Place a fried egg on each bowl, drizzle with sesame oil and gochujang, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
  9. Mix everything together before eating to enjoy the contrasting flavors and textures.
