Ingredients
- Ground halal beef - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Sesame oil - 15 ml
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Sriracha sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Kimchi - 100 grams, chopped
- Green onions - 2 tablespoons, chopped
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground halal beef, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the kimchi slaw by mixing the chopped kimchi with green onions in a small bowl.
- In another bowl, mix mayonnaise and sriracha sauce to create a spicy mayo.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading the spicy mayo on the bottom half of each bun, adding a lettuce leaf, a burger patty, sliced tomato, and topping with the kimchi slaw. Place the top half of the bun on each burger.
- Serve immediately with your choice of side.
