Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Ground lamb - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Breadcrumbs - 1/4 cup
  • Olive oil - for brushing
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Yogurt sauce - for serving (optional)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, red chili flakes, egg, and breadcrumbs.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined, then shape the mixture into elongated meatballs around skewers.
  3. Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush it with olive oil.
  4. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the kofta kebabs are browned and cooked through.
  5. Warm the pita bread on the grill for about 1 minute on each side.
  6. Serve the kofta kebabs with the warm pita bread and a side of yogurt sauce if desired.
