Ingredients

  • Eggs - 4 large
  • Heavy cream - 120 ml
  • Fresh spinach - 150 g, chopped
  • Cheddar cheese - 100 g, grated
  • Cream cheese - 50 g, softened
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg - a pinch

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the chopped spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, cream cheese, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  5. Stir in the sautéed spinach and half of the grated cheddar cheese into the egg mixture.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 9-inch (23 cm) pie dish or quiche pan.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the top is golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
