Ingredients
- Pork chops - 2 (about 200g each)
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Dried thyme - 1/2 teaspoon
- Mushrooms - 150g, sliced
- Heavy cream - 100ml
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Parmesan cheese - 30g, grated
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried thyme.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the mushrooms are browned and tender.
- Add minced garlic to the mushrooms and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated parmesan cheese and let the sauce thicken for about 2-3 minutes.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them to coat. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately, ideally with sautéed greens or a salad.
