Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Almond flour - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Crushed tomatoes - 400 grams (canned)
  • Fresh basil - 5 grams, chopped
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, almond flour, egg, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix until all ingredients are well combined, then form into 12 small meatballs.
  4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Add crushed tomatoes, chopped basil, and red pepper flakes to the saucepan, and simmer for 10 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  7. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer together for another 5 minutes.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with additional fresh basil if desired.
