- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Almond flour - 30 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Crushed tomatoes - 400 grams (canned)
- Fresh basil - 5 grams, chopped
- Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, almond flour, egg, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix until all ingredients are well combined, then form into 12 small meatballs.
- Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
- While the meatballs are baking, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add crushed tomatoes, chopped basil, and red pepper flakes to the saucepan, and simmer for 10 minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Once the meatballs are done, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer together for another 5 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional fresh basil if desired.
