Ingredients

  • 2 large beef hot dogs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup low-carb chili (canned or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons diced onions
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 low-carb hot dog buns (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the diced onions until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the low-carb chili to the skillet, followed by the garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. While the chili is simmering, place the beef hot dogs on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or until heated through.
  5. Remove the hot dogs from the oven and place them in the optional low-carb buns if using.
  6. Top each hot dog generously with the chili mixture, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
