Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 400 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Yogurt (full-fat) - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Cucumber - 100 grams, diced
  • Tomato - 100 grams, diced
  • Red onion - 50 grams, thinly sliced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lettuce leaves - for serving

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, yogurt, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice to create the marinade.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into thin strips and add them to the marinade. Mix well to coat and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken strips and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
  4. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the salad by mixing diced cucumber, tomato, red onion, and chopped parsley in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Once the chicken is done, assemble your keto shawarma by placing a few pieces of chicken on a lettuce leaf and topping it with the fresh salad mixture.
  6. Drizzle with additional olive oil or your favorite low-carb sauce if desired, and serve immediately.
