Ingredients

  • Beef cube steaks - 2 pieces (about 200 grams each)
  • Almond flour - 1 cup (100 grams)
  • Pork rinds (crushed) - 1/2 cup (50 grams)
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Heavy cream - 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons (30 grams)
  • Beef broth - 1 cup (240 ml)
  • Parsley (chopped) - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) to keep the cooked steaks warm.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine almond flour, crushed pork rinds, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until well combined.
  4. Dip each cube steak into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with the almond flour mixture, pressing to adhere.
  5. In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Transfer the cooked steaks to a baking dish and place in the preheated oven to keep warm while you prepare the gravy.
  7. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and pour in the beef broth, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing it to reduce slightly.
  8. Serve the chicken fried steaks with the gravy poured over the top and garnish with chopped parsley.
