Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 small head of green cabbage, chopped (about 300g)
  • 1 small onion, diced (about 100g)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 400g diced tomatoes (canned)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the cabbage is slightly softened.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
