- Bison ground meat - 500 grams
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cheddar cheese - 50 grams, shredded
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Dijon mustard - 2 teaspoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the bison ground meat, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and shape them into patties about 2.5 cm thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the bison patties to the skillet.
- Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
- During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with shredded cheddar cheese and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
- To assemble, place a bison patty on a romaine lettuce leaf, top with avocado slices, tomato slices, and a drizzle of Dijon mustard. Wrap the lettuce around the filling and enjoy!
