- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Ketchup - 1 cup
- Molasses - 2 tablespoons
- Worcestershire sauce (gluten-free) - 1 tablespoon
- Mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Liquid smoke - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar to create a dry rub.
- Pat the pork ribs dry with paper towels and apply the dry rub evenly over both sides of the ribs.
- Wrap the ribs in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours.
- While the ribs are baking, prepare the barbecue sauce by combining ketchup, molasses, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and liquid smoke in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- After 2.5 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil.
- Preheat a grill or broiler to medium-high heat.
- Brush the barbecue sauce generously over the ribs and place them on the grill or under the broiler for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the sauce is caramelized.
- Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving with extra barbecue sauce.
