Ingredients

  • Ground turkey - 400 grams
  • Jerk seasoning - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Whole grain burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Avocado - 1/2, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, jerk seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked through and internal temperature reaches 75°C.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly on a separate pan or toaster.
  5. Assemble the burger by placing a patty on each bun, then layering with lettuce, tomato slices, avocado, and red onion.
  6. Drizzle lime juice over the assembled burgers for added flavor, and serve immediately.
