Ingredients

  • Brussels sprouts - 300 grams
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon (for garnish)
  • Chopped green onions - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and tender, stirring halfway through.
  6. While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, prepare the honey garlic sauce by mixing honey, minced garlic, and soy sauce in a small bowl.
  7. Once the Brussels sprouts are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the honey garlic sauce over them. Toss to coat evenly.
  8. Return the Brussels sprouts to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes to allow the sauce to caramelize slightly.
  9. Remove from oven, garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and serve warm.
