  • Jasmine rice - 1 cup (200g)
  • Water - 2 cups (480ml)
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
  • Almonds (sliced) - 1/4 cup (30g)
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon (14g)
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
  4. While the rice is cooking, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced almonds and toast them for about 3-5 minutes until they are golden brown and fragrant, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  5. Once the rice is cooked, remove it from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork.
  6. Stir in the honey, toasted almonds, and ground cinnamon into the fluffed rice until well combined.
