- Water - 2 cups (480ml)
- Honey - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
- Almonds (sliced) - 1/4 cup (30g)
- Butter - 1 tablespoon (14g)
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- While the rice is cooking, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced almonds and toast them for about 3-5 minutes until they are golden brown and fragrant, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- Once the rice is cooked, remove it from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork.
