Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • Granulated sugar - 50 grams
  • Honey - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Almonds (sliced) - 50 grams
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, honey, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in the sliced almonds until evenly distributed.
  6. Shape the dough into a log about 25 cm long and 5 cm wide on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until lightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing the log into 1 cm thick slices.
  9. Arrange the slices cut-side down on the baking sheet and return to the oven for another 10-15 minutes, until crisp.
  10. Let the biscotti cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
