- Water - 500 ml
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Fresh rosemary - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- Rinse the wild rice under cold water to remove any debris.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed wild rice and water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the water.
- In a separate skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Once the rice is cooked, drain any excess water if necessary and add it to the skillet with the garlic.
- Stir in the chopped parsley, thyme, rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine and heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
- Serve warm as a side dish to your favorite BBQ meats.
