Ingredients

  • Wild rice - 100 grams
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
  • Fresh rosemary - 1 teaspoon, chopped
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the wild rice under cold water to remove any debris.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed wild rice and water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the water.
  4. In a separate skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  5. Once the rice is cooked, drain any excess water if necessary and add it to the skillet with the garlic.
  6. Stir in the chopped parsley, thyme, rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine and heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve warm as a side dish to your favorite BBQ meats.
