- Black beans - 100 grams, drained and rinsed

- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Breadcrumbs - 50 grams
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Avocado - 1 small, sliced
- Mustard or sauce of choice - for serving
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the hemp seeds, cooked quinoa, black beans, grated carrot, chopped red onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mash the mixture with a fork or potato masher until well combined but still slightly chunky.
- Add the breadcrumbs to the mixture to help bind the ingredients together. Mix well until the mixture is firm enough to form patties.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty.
