Ingredients
- Jasmine rice - 1 cup
- Water - 2 cups
- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Eggs - 2 large
- Butter - 1 tablespoon
- Beef broth - 1 cup
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2 tablespoons, chopped
Steps
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then combine it with 2 cups of water in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until cooked.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add beef broth and bring it to a simmer. Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry, then add it to the simmering broth, stirring continuously until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In another skillet, heat butter over medium heat and fry the eggs sunny-side up until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny.
- To serve, place a scoop of rice on each plate, top with a hamburger patty, pour gravy over the patty, and finally add a fried egg on top. Garnish with chopped green onions.
