Ingredients

  • Jasmine rice - 1 cup
  • Water - 2 cups
  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Beef broth - 1 cup
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then combine it with 2 cups of water in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until cooked.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add beef broth and bring it to a simmer. Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry, then add it to the simmering broth, stirring continuously until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. In another skillet, heat butter over medium heat and fry the eggs sunny-side up until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny.
  6. To serve, place a scoop of rice on each plate, top with a hamburger patty, pour gravy over the patty, and finally add a fried egg on top. Garnish with chopped green onions.
