Ingredients

  • Sweet potatoes - 400 grams
  • Milk (Halal) - 120 ml
  • Brown sugar - 50 grams
  • Butter (Halal) - 30 grams
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Pecans - 40 grams, chopped
  • Rolled oats - 30 grams
  • Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into chunks. Boil them in a pot of water for about 15 minutes or until tender.
  3. Drain the sweet potatoes and transfer them to a mixing bowl. Mash them with a potato masher or fork.
  4. Add milk, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and the egg to the mashed sweet potatoes. Mix well until fully combined and smooth.
  5. Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish (about 20x20 cm).
  6. In a separate bowl, combine chopped pecans, rolled oats, and maple syrup. Mix until the oats and nuts are well coated.
  7. Sprinkle the pecan-oat mixture evenly over the sweet potato layer.
