Ingredients

  • Large button mushrooms - 12 pieces
  • Ground halal beef - 200 grams
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1 small (about 75 grams)
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Breadcrumbs - 30 grams
  • Parmesan cheese, grated - 30 grams
  • Parsley, chopped - 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems. Finely chop the stems and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion and garlic until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the ground halal beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-6 minutes.
  5. Stir in the chopped mushroom stems, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, black pepper, paprika, and lemon juice. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until combined.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  7. Stuff each mushroom cap generously with the beef mixture, pressing down gently to pack it in.
  8. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
