- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- Cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until melted.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and the remaining tablespoon of butter, allowing it to melt and create a sauce.
- Add the cooked pasta and reserved pasta water to the skillet, tossing everything together to combine and coat the pasta in the sauce.
- Remove from heat, stir in the chopped parsley, and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
