- cornmeal - 50 grams

- buttermilk - 125 ml
- paprika - 1 teaspoon

- onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- salt - 1 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- canola oil (for frying) - 250 ml
- shredded lettuce - 100 grams
- tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- pickles (sliced) - 50 grams
- mayonnaise - 100 grams
- Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
- lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- hot sauce - to taste

- In a bowl, combine buttermilk, egg, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the shrimp to the marinade and let it sit for 15 minutes.
- In a shallow dish, mix flour and cornmeal for the breading.
- Heat canola oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove shrimp from the marinade, letting excess drip off, and coat each shrimp in the flour-cornmeal mixture.
- Fry shrimp in batches for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and hot sauce to create the remoulade.
- Slice the baguettes in half and lightly toast them if desired.
- Spread a generous amount of remoulade on the inside of each baguette.
- Layer the fried shrimp, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and pickles inside the baguette. Close and serve immediately.
