  • diced tomatoes (canned) - 200 grams
  • chicken broth (halal) - 500 ml
  • all-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons
  • vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • cajun seasoning - 1 tablespoon
  • bay leaf - 1
  • salt - to taste
  • black pepper - to taste
  • cooked rice - for serving
  • fresh parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Stir in the flour to create a roux, cooking until it turns a dark brown color, about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, celery, and garlic to the roux. Sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. Add the shrimp and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
