Ingredients

  • Pie crust - 1 (store-bought or homemade)
  • Halal turkey bacon - 100 grams, chopped
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Eggs - 3 large
  • Heavy cream - 100 ml
  • Milk - 50 ml
  • Cheddar cheese - 50 grams, grated
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg - a pinch

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped Halal turkey bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  5. Add the crispy turkey bacon, sautéed onions, and grated cheddar cheese to the egg mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Place the pie crust in a 20 cm (8-inch) pie pan and pour the egg mixture into the crust.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top.
  8. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
