  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Green bell pepper - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Provolone cheese - 100 grams, sliced
  • Hoagie rolls - 2 pieces
  • Mustard - 1 tablespoon (optional)
  • Hot sauce - to taste (optional)

Steps

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet, sautéing for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Season the thinly sliced ribeye steak with salt and black pepper.
  5. Push the sautéed vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the steak to the other side, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
  6. Mix the steak with the vegetables and cook for an additional 2 minutes until the beef is cooked through.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and place the provolone cheese slices over the meat and vegetables, covering the skillet until the cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. While the cheese is melting, lightly toast the hoagie rolls on a separate skillet or in the oven.
  9. Once the cheese is melted, divide the mixture between the toasted hoagie rolls.
  10. Top with mustard and hot sauce if desired, serve immediately.
