- Halal ground beef - 250 grams
- Breadcrumbs - 50 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Marinara sauce - 200 grams
- Sub sandwich rolls - 2
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 4 cm in diameter.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for about 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides.
- Transfer the browned meatballs to a baking dish and pour the marinara sauce over them. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- While the meatballs are baking, slice the sub rolls open without cutting all the way through.
- Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and place 3-4 meatballs in each sub roll, spooning some marinara sauce over the top.
