Ingredients

  • Lasagna sheets - 4 pieces
  • Halal ground beef - 200 grams
  • Ricotta cheese - 150 grams
  • Fresh spinach - 100 grams
  • Basil pesto - 100 grams
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 500 milliliters

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add the halal ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the fresh spinach and cook until wilted, then remove from heat.
  5. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with half of the grated Parmesan cheese and a pinch of salt.
  6. In an oven-safe dish, spread a thin layer of basil pesto on the bottom.
  7. Layer 2 lasagna sheets over the pesto, then spread half of the ricotta mixture over the sheets.
  8. Add half of the ground beef and spinach mixture, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  9. Repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients, finishing with a layer of lasagna sheets topped with basil pesto and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  10. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  12. Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
