- Lasagna noodles - 4 sheets
- Ground halal beef - 250 grams
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Onion, chopped - 1 small
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Tomato sauce - 200 grams
- Ricotta cheese - 100 grams
- Mozzarella cheese, shredded - 100 grams
- Parmesan cheese, grated - 30 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Dried basil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley, chopped - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cook the lasagna noodles in boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Add the ground halal beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.
- In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of the beef sauce on the bottom. Place 2 sheets of lasagna noodles on top.
- Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of beef sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers with 2 more sheets of noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture, beef sauce, and top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the lasagna rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
