- Halal chicken breast - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Mirin - 30 ml
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons (30 grams)
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Cooked rice - 300 grams
Steps
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the teriyaki marinade.
- Cut the Halal chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and add it to the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Pour in the remaining marinade and bring it to a simmer. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in sesame oil and half of the chopped green onions, mixing well.
- Serve the chicken over cooked rice, garnished with the remaining green onions and sesame seeds.
