Ingredients

  • beef sirloin - 300 grams
  • olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • salt - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - ½ teaspoon
  • pita bread - 2 pieces
  • cucumber - 1 small, diced
  • tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • red onion - ½ medium, thinly sliced
  • fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • yogurt - 100 grams
  • lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • chili sauce - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Cut the beef sirloin into 2.5 cm cubes and add it to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the beef is marinating, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, lemon juice, and chili sauce in a small bowl. Set aside.
  4. After marinating, thread the beef cubes onto skewers, making sure to leave space between each piece.
  5. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. While the kebabs are cooking, warm the pita bread on the grill for 1-2 minutes on each side until slightly toasted.
  7. Once the beef is ready, remove it from the skewers and place it in the center of each pita.
  8. Top the beef with diced cucumber, tomato, red onion, and chopped parsley.
  9. Drizzle the yogurt sauce over the top, fold the pita over the filling, and serve immediately.
