  • Long-grain rice - 1 cup (200 grams)
  • Onion, diced - 1 medium
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Bell pepper, diced - 1/2 medium
  • Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Beef broth - 2 cups (480 ml)
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and ground halal beef to the skillet, cooking until the beef is browned, around 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the tomato paste, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper, mixing well to combine all the flavors.
  5. Add the rice to the skillet, stirring to coat it with the beef mixture.
  6. Pour in the beef broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Once simmering, remove from heat.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, covering it tightly with aluminum foil.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven, let it sit for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
