Ingredients

  • Shrimp - 300 grams, peeled and deveined
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • BBQ sauce (halal) - 1/3 cup
  • French baguette - 2 pieces (about 15 cm each)
  • Lettuce - 1 cup, shredded
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Pickles - 1/2 cup, sliced
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the shrimp with olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. While the shrimp is marinating, preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Once the grill is hot, place the marinated shrimp on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are opaque and cooked through.
  4. Remove the shrimp from the grill and toss them in the BBQ sauce until fully coated.
  5. Slice the French baguettes in half lengthwise and lightly toast them on the grill for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Spread mayonnaise and lemon juice on the inside of each baguette.
  7. Layer the shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, and pickles on the bottom half of each baguette.
  8. Top with the BBQ shrimp and close the sandwich. Serve immediately.
