Ingredients

  • elk ground meat - 400 grams
  • garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • sea salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • coconut oil - 1 tablespoon
  • avocado - 1, sliced
  • tomato - 1, sliced
  • red onion - 1/2, sliced
  • leafy greens (e.g., spinach or lettuce) - 2 cups

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the elk ground meat, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and fresh parsley. Mix until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush it lightly with coconut oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Once hot, place the elk burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  5. While the burgers are grilling, prepare your toppings: slice the avocado, tomato, and red onion.
  6. Once the burgers are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  7. Serve the grilled elk burgers on a bed of leafy greens, topped with sliced avocado, tomato, and red onion.
