- sourdough bread - 4 slices
- sharp cheddar cheese - 100 grams, grated
- mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, grated
- unsalted butter - 50 grams, softened
- garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- fresh basil - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- salt - to taste
- black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the grated sharp cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, adding garlic powder, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in a preheated skillet over medium heat.
- Evenly distribute the cheese mixture on top of the bread in the skillet.
- Cover with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the bottom slice is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt.
- Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side until golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from the skillet, let cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve warm.
