Ingredients
- Spaghetti - 150 grams
- Shrimp, peeled and deveined - 250 grams
- Garlic, minced - 4 cloves
- Unsalted butter - 50 grams
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning them with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Pour in the reserved pasta water and lemon juice, stirring to combine. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing well to coat the pasta and shrimp in the garlic butter sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Serve immediately with additional parsley and a squeeze of lemon if desired.
