Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 300g
  • Broccoli florets - 250g
  • Garlic (minced) - 4 cloves
  • Unsalted butter - 50g
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 25g of butter over medium heat until melted.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  5. Stir in the blanched broccoli and the remaining 25g of butter. Squeeze the lemon juice over the mixture and toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
