- Broccoli florets - 250g
- Garlic (minced) - 4 cloves
- Unsalted butter - 50g
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 25g of butter over medium heat until melted.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Stir in the blanched broccoli and the remaining 25g of butter. Squeeze the lemon juice over the mixture and toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
